AIR INTO WATER AN NEW INVENTORY

image of a fresh water generator

Johathan Ritchey has invented the Watermill, which is an atmospheric water generator. It converts air into fresh water.
This latest technology invention produces fresh water at a cost of about 3 cents a liter (1 quart). Originally designed for areas that do not have clean drinking water, the Watermill is for households that prefer an eco-friendly, cost effective alternative to bottled water.
Atmospheric water generators convert air into water when the temperature of the air becomes saturated with enough water vapor that it begins to condense (dew point).
"What is unique about the Watermill is that it has intelligence," says Ritche. This makes the appliance more efficient. It samples the air every 3 minutes to determine the most efficient time to convert the air into water.
It will also tell you when to change the carbon filter and will shut itself off if it cannot make pure clean water.

Galaxy Note 6 Expected to Sport Samsung's New 10nm 6GB RAM; Edge Variant Tipped

HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung's upcoming phablet flagship has seen several leaks, and now fresh reports have surfaced online revealing more details about the next Note-Series smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come with the company's latest 6GB LPPDR4 RAM module, and is expected to be accompanied by the Galaxy Note 6 Edge variant.
The tech giant last week unveiled (via Sammobile) its 10nm LPDDR4 6GB RAM module for smartphones at the Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum in Shenzen, China. And there's now buzz that the Galaxy Note 6 may come with this new module. Samsung's old 20nm 6GB chip wasn't a game changer, but the big highlight on this 10nm chip is that it offers improved power consumption alongside better performance. The Note 6 is expected to pack a 4000mAh battery.
A recently granted Samsung patent (via Sammobile) in South Korea has also been leaked, hinting at an Edge variant for the Galaxy Note 6. This is line with previous reports that sugested the same. The company had given the Edge variant a miss last year, with the Galaxy Note 5, and had launched the galaxy s6 edge+ instead. It was claimed that the company had difficulty in getting the pen to work effortlessly at the curved edges.
However, samsung seems to have found a solution, and the patent informs that the Edge panel would be sensitive to a stylus. This means that the company has found a way to make the S Pen work on the sides as seamlessly as the front display, hinting at a comeback of a new Note Edge variant. Samsung had introduced the galaxy note edge in 2014, but gave the Edge variant a miss last year, and released only the Galaxy Note 5.
Previous romous sugested that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will come with a 5.8-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 32GB storage for base model with storage expandability via microSD card, and 12-megapixel rear camera with a Dual Pixel setup.

According to a report by mydrivers the main difference between the two metal-bodied smartphones will be their size.        The remaining specifications of the two devices are tipped to be the same. Both phones may be powered by a QUALCOMM SPENDROME octa-core processor, with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The devices are also expected to come with 16MP and 8MP cameras. The report also mentions that the phones may have SAMSUNG Ultra High Quality Audio. Images of the SAMSUNG GALAXY C5 have been previously leaked, while the galaxy C7 has been spotted on AnTuTu. As per the listing, the phone may have a 5.5-inch display instead of 5.7-inches. 7 Steps to hack a bank account

The experiment:
Herbert Thompson* in 2008 wanted to show the public how easy it was to access someone’s personal information and bank account.
He did the experiment on someone who he barely knew, a girl named Kim. Using the knowledge he knew about her, her name, where she was from, where she worked and roughly her age, he was able to access her bank account in ONLY 7 STEPS!!!
Read below to see how he did it – in the days before Facebook!
Step 1
Google search. He googles her. Finds a blog and a resume. (Thompson called her blog a “goldmine.”) He gets information about grandparents, pets, and hometown. Most importantly he gets her college email address and current Gmail address.
Step 2
Next stop: Password recovery feature on her bank’s web site. He attempts to reset her bank password. The bank sends a reset link to her email, which he does not have access to. He needs to get access to her Gmail.
Step 3
Gmail access. He attempts to reset her Gmail password but Gmail sends this to her college email address. Gmail tells you this address’ domain (at least it did in 2008 when Thompson conducted the experiments) so he knew he had to get access to that specific address.
Step 4
College email account page. Thompson clicks the “forgot password” link on this page and winds up facing a few questions. Home address, home zip code and home country? No problem, Thompson has it all from the same resume. The same resume found from the simple Google search done earlier. Then came a stumbling block: the college wanted her birthday. But he only had a rough idea of her age, no actual birth date.
Step 5
State traffic court web site. Apparently, you can search for violations and court appearances by name! And such records include a birth date. (Facebook also makes this piece of data very easy to get even if people do not note their birth year… Remember Thompson knew roughly how old Kim was.) But he had no luck with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Step 6
Thompson goes back to the blog and does a search for “birthday.” He gets a date but no year.
Step 7
Finally, Thompson attempts the college reset password again. He fills in her birth date, and simply guesses the year. He gets it wrong. But the site gives him five chances, and tells him which field has the error. So he continues to guess. He gets access in under five guesses. He changes her college password. This gives him access to her Gmail password reset email. Google requires some personal information which he is able to get easily from her blog (e.g., father’s middle name.) Thompson changes the Gmail password and that gives him access to the bank account reset password email. Here again he is asked for personal information, but nothing that he could not glean from Kim’s blog (e.g., pet name and phone number.) He resets the bank password and bingo, has immediate access to all her records and money.

Gehendra Sumsher, the first Nepali scientist

The very first scientist of Nepal, Gehendra Sumsher was born as the first son to the past Prime Minister, Bir Sumsher on Poush 1928 BS. He was born in Kolkata while his father had gone there as a representative of Nepal. He studied at home with an English teacher and later joined the Durbar High School, the first school of Nepal. This creative, argumentative and serious child who loved music, physical exercise, sports and creative works grew up to become the first scientist of Nepal and like any other scientists, he was more interested in creating and doing new things rather than study about others’ works.
He was made in-charge of arms and ammunition of Nepal Army by his father at the very young age and he was opened to opportunities when his father became the Prime Minister of Nepal in 1942 BS. He utilized the opportunity to its fullest and made many contributions to develop the field of arms and ammunition in Nepal.
He established factories to manufacture essential equipments for soldiers, electricity power generators, rice mill, wind motor, etc. in JannalSundarijalBalaju and Meghchan inBhojpur. He used the iron found in his own country and also the coal found in Koilabas inDang to make weapons rather than importing those from other countries. In 1965 BS, he imported a motor car from Ford Company in Britain to study every parts of the car in detail willing to make one himself. He dismantled the car and later assembled it again and at the desire of king Prithvi Bir Bikram Shah, he offered the motor car to the King. He requested for the maps, charts and catalogue from Japan and Britain and studied each of them in detail and later successfully designed and manufactured rifles with his new improved skill and ability.
During the time when there was only a single barrel rifle in the army, he made a double barrel rifle and named it “Ge-Rifle” after the first letter of his name and also made a double barrel gun and named it “Bir-Gun” after his father’s name. Later, he made a new model canon “Dhir-Gun” and named it after his grandfather Dhir Sumsher.
He set up rice mills in his residence at Seto Durbar and also made wind motors to draw under-ground water. He also established a leather factory at Balaju to refine and produce leather products like shoes, belts, etc. Moreover, it was he who generated electricity for the first time in Nepal with the help of his friend Muse Thapa and also demonstrated how it could be used even in water. His inventions impressed the Ranas and when Dev Sumsherbecame the Prime Minister of Nepal, this liberal PM sent a team along with Gehendra to study the Japanese technology in Japan and another team to Britain to study their system of administration. Gehendra Sumsher made new arms and ammunitions based on the Japanese model and on the occasion of Dashain festival in 1963 BS, a pistol fell from his pocket while he bow down to salute Chandra Sumsher which is believed to be the reason behind his mysterious death a year later in 1964 BS. It is suspected that Chandra Sumsher, fearing Gehendra’s popularity and success killed him.
The works of this young scientist, who died at the age of 35, are preserved in the National Museum at Chhauni. If he had lived longer, he would have done more development works in the field of technology and science in the country and Nepal might not have had to depend on other countries for technological development.

MAXIAN DRUGS SMUGGLERS ARE USING THE DRONES FOR DRUGS SUPPLY

Mexico-based drug cartels are using technology to smuggle drugs into the United States, including small drones like one that crashed in a city located along the southwest border in California, authorities said.

As reported by Fox News and other media, police in the Mexican border city of Tijuana, just south of San Diego, crash-landed in the parking lot of a supermarket because it was overloaded with methamphetamine.

"Tijuana police spokesman Jorge Morrua said authorities were alerted after the drone fell Tuesday night near the San Ysidro crossing at Mexico's border with California," Fox News reported.

Authorities retrieved six packets of the dangerous addictive drug, weighing, in sum, more than six pounds. The packets were duct-taped to a six-propeller, remotely controlled aircraft.

Not the first drone-related smuggling incident

Morrua noted that Mexican police are looking into where the drone originated from and who might have been controlling it. He added that the incident was not the first time that Mexico-based drug gangs and cartels had employed drone technology to smuggle drugs into the United States.

Other methods, besides trafficking drugs across the border using human "mules," include catapults, tunnels and ultralight aircraft, said authorities.

Fox News reported that, in April, U.S. authorities in South Carolina discovered a drone outside the fence of a prison that was being used to carry cellphones, marijuana and tobacco.

As reported by National Review Online, one U.S. border official downplayed the incident. "To date, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has not intercepted any drones smuggling narcotics across the borders into the United States," CBP spokesman Carlos Lazo said in a statement. "In collaboration with our federal, state, local and international law enforcement partners, CBP remains vigilant against emerging trends and ever-changing tactics employed by transnational criminal organizations behind illegal attempts to smuggle narcotics into the U.S."

"In San Diego, the street value, at last account, for a six-pound load would be about $48,000," DEA Special Agent Matt Barden told CNN. "Once you get it across the border, that stuff's like gold."

THE SMARTNESS OF SAMSUNG IS VULNERABLE TO HACKING

Scientists have uncovered a series of vulnerabilities that allowed them to open electronic locks, change the smart home's vacation settings, and even set off a house's fire alarm with false messages.

The researchers said the attacks were made possible by two intrinsic design flaws in the SmartThings framework that aren't easily fixed. They also said that consumers should think twice before using the system to connect door locks and other security-critical components.

They were able to perform four attacks that allowed them entry to the home or the ability to take over different functions. A lock-pick malware app, disguised as a battery-level monitor, could spy on a user setting a new PIN code for a door lock and sent the PIN code to a potential hacker via text message.

The security flaw stems from the system's alleged complacency to malicious apps that take control of the SmartThings app and hence allow access to these devices.

The platform had a vulnerability called "overprivilege," which means the SmartApps allowed more access to the devices than originally intended, and the devices could be made to do things that they were not programmed to do originally.

The researchers tested SmartThings because of its wide use. The Android app for the system has been downloaded more than 100,000 times.
